2021 programme

In normal (non-Covid-19) times our monthly meetings are held in Colmworth Village Hall, Church Road, Colmworth MK44 2JX on Fridays from 7.30pm to 9.30pm unless advised differently.

This year however, following Chris Walker’s talk back in November 2020 via Zoom, we arranged the talks listed below which were also presented remotely using Zoom:

Friday, 19th February – Dorothy Jamieson: “Willington and the Mowbrays: after the Peasants’ Revolt”

Friday, 19th March – Caroline Bacon: “Edward Bawden and Friends”

Friday, 16th April – Roy Smart: “Wallis Simpson and the Abdication Crisis of 1936 – the Year of Three Kings !”

Friday, 21st May – Barry Tomlinson: “RAE Bedford’s contribution to Concorde”

For the Autumn of 2021 our programme will be as follows with the talks being presented either in Colmworth Village Hall or via Zoom as the Covid-19 situation allows

Friday, 17th September – our AGM plus Liz Davies presenting the inaugural Sue Jarrett Memorial Lecture on Regency St Neots

Friday, 15th October – Paddy Lambert on some aspect (still to be agreed) of Roman Britain

Friday, 19th November – Christopher Bennett on the Antarctic explorer Apsley Cherry-Garrod

All of the above talks will start at 7.30pm.
